The Canadian Church Historical Society

Welcome to the website for the Canadian Church Historical Society.  Since 1949, the Society has existed to promote the study of Canadian Church history, especially with respect to the Anglican Church in Canada.  We publish a highly regarded peer-review Journal, which is seeking submissions, and we host periodic conferences on special topics of interest to Canadian Church historians.  Memberships for individuals are $40.00 per year and include a subscription to The Journal of the Canadian Church Historical Society, which is published annually.  See Membership tab for more information.

Upcoming meetings, events, and conferences

The next CCHS Annual General Meeting will be held Friday, November 21, 2025. There will be a dinner and then business meeting held in person at Church House, 80 Hayden Street, Toronto. The business meeting portion will also be available via Zoom. The meeting includes a presentation by The Rev. Canon Dr. Alan Hayes, Professor Emeritus, Church History at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. More information on registration can be found here.
